Originally a light oak color, this table has been painted in distressed white and black. The stripes of rounded trim running around all 6 sides were painted in rich black and copper leaf, and finished in a shiny clear acrylic. Table top has been entirely reimagined, with intricate victorian clockface design; custom designed, printed, and tediously applied, in shiny black vinyl. The clock has been hand painted with brick red, pale sage, teal, and liquid copper leaf, distressed, and antiqued before being sealed with crystal clear acrylic to enhance the colors and protect paint from wear. The original hardware has been repainted in copper; twin doors open to reveal a large storage space within. Interior remains unchanged, with a useful corner shelf hidden inside.

When I originally picked up this strange, hexagonal end (?) table, I knew the treatment had to be equally unique. I didn't realize exactly how drastic this change was going to be, or how much time I would spend wrapped around this table performing neck crunching work. I never had a concrete plan for this one, and instead the piece lead me on a long and winding journey full of shoulder pain and sore eyeballs. All resentments aside, I'm not unhappy with how it turned out.
